Normally I don't write a review but this was an extreme case. This was the worse customer service in my 15 years of travel experience. Guilherme - the rental sales officer was rude, condescending and didn't help at all. Also the company does false advertising. The car was advertised as late model but it wasn't - it was a 5 year old car... and that by no standards is a new model.

Compared to other reviews, it seems like we were quite lucky (did not have any major trouble or dispute with Apex). Rented a RAV4 from them and had no problem, picked up from Queenstown city centre and returned to Queenstown Airport (7 day rent). I still reckon the customer service could be better though, the lady who talked to us was not really professional nor friendly.

I never had a problem so far. A rather unfriendly guy, who at the time of going to leave the car and while I went down to ask only where I left because there was no place, he comes in a little arrogant saying that we could not park ... something we obviously knew, did not give us time to get a cell phone that was in the car. After the guy arrives and tells us that he did not find anything, that we should go get him, the car was parked in another corner, And the cell phone was at the driver's door. Very bad service after renting.

Hired a vehicle 23/12 so office was busy. When going over the agreement she said it had the basic insurance cover, I said should be ok as I didn't intend to hit anyone, then she said well if anyone hits you you are still liable for the $2000 charge, so recommended for another $29 I upgrade to cover all. What annoyed me was this was never clearly stated as a per day charge!! Because it was so busy I signed the agreement, which is my mistake but was conscious of people waiting for service.
Wasn't until later when I returned it to Christchurch Airport I realised it was $200 more that original quote.
The guy at Christchurch branch suggested I contact Queenston which I did....
No has had the decency to even reply to my email which I am disgusted about.
This is the 4th time I have hired from Apex but this has put me off so will go elsewhere next time.
