Had a great time. Bar is clean and tidy. Parking within steps. Kitchen food will be back next week. Came to see Big Johnny Blue & Strange Cargo October 1st 2016. Would come back again.

If you want to see the death of a formerly grand tavern go to The Gladstone.
Our first attempt was watching the staff and 'owner' play on their phones for ten minutes without looking up we so we gave up and left.
I went back without the wife another time after that and found out you only get ice if you request it.wtf? As I sat trying to get someone's attention to have another (phones again) I watched a huge cockroach walk across the bar. I left.
Don't waste your time or money. If you remember what it used to be, and want to keep your fond memories of a truly grand place, don't go in. It will only make you sad.

this used to be a legendary old-fashioned bar which closed down due to (yeah you guessed it!) bad management.
It has recently re-opened and i had the opportunity to visit with friends.

We were all impressed with how great the bar still looks (considering it has had many years of wear and tear) and also when you consider the makeshift look of most bars today which certainly lack in offering you that certain 'friendly and warm' atmospheric presence.
You can get wasted easily, because the drinks are relatively cheap, so watch yourself.
No cover charge. we all agreed on giving the bar 10 points for this!
Love to shoot pool? We had fun playing pool while listening to some great classic rock tunes played by a DJ who will entertain your requests!.

All in all, a fun night out with your buddies and still come out ahead, without blowing your paycheck!
